Battleship to serve homeless vets on Thanksgiving
CAMDEN — The Battleship New Jersey Museum and Memorial on the Delaware River waterfront will honor homeless veterans with a hot turkey meal on Thanksgiving beginning at 11:30 a.m.
The veterans will be served chow-line style by volunteers from the battleship staff at the crew’s galley and will enjoy their meal at the crew’s mess.
Although the battleship is closed for tours on Thanksgiving, it will be open for walk-up guided and audio tours Friday, beginning at 9:30 a.m., with the last tour departing at 3 p.m.
The ship is open for walk-up tours on Saturdays and Sundays in November and December and can accommodate scheduled group tours or events at other times. For more information or to schedule a guided tour or event, call 1-877-866-1652, ext. 144.
