THANKSGIVING DINNER FOR THE TROOPS, NOVEMBER, 2007:

Post 126 extends special thanks to the following supporters:

POST RECEIVES THANK YOU POST CARD:

Hello from Kuwait!
I picked up one of your packets at the JRC
at Fort Dix, NJ.  I had forgotten my shampoo
& conditioner and your packet fixed my problem.
So THANK you for what you do for us soldiers
from the bottom of my heart.  Nancy Jassu

NOTES FROM FT. DIX DEPUTY COMMANDER LTC ROGER D. COTTON:

Holiday Support.  We continue to receive an outpouring of support from the Burlington County Military Affairs Committee, Jewish War Veterans, Veteran's of Foreign Wars, and others.   Our community friends have provided meals and numerous invitations of support for our Soldiers.  We are very grateful for your generosity.

Warriors in Transition (WT).  This is the new term for what was previously called Medical Hold Soldiers.  As of 29 Nov 07, the total number of Soldiers assigned to the Warrior Transition Unit (WTU) stands at 209.  Of the 209 Soldiers assigned the WTU, 196 are enlisted and 13 are officers.  We were asked by BG Tucker, Deputy Commanding General, North Atlantic Regional Medical Command to provide a briefing of our reintegration program at the Warrior Transition Unit, developed for the Soldiers by CH (COL) Forden and CH (COL) Kronenberg, to the Army Medical Action Plan Assessment Conference based upon the results of an AMEDD inspection.  BG Tucker was so impressed with the program that he asked CH (COL) Forden to brief the program to the Secretary of the Army and the Vice Chief of Staff of the Army.  The briefing and program was well received by the Secretary and Vice Chief of Staff and may serve e as the model for reintegration programs in Warrior Transition Units across the Army.

Mobilization.  As of 29 Nov 07, our mobilization/demobilization/support/warrior in transition load was 2,221 pax.

NJ-ARNG.  The NJ Army National Guard began their pre-mobilization processing for OIF 09-11 on 26 Nov 07.  The NJ Army National Guard was informed to utilize the nearest mobilization station to conduct the Soldier Readiness Program (SRP) processing.  To date, we have no major issues.

Respectfully submitted,

David Singer, Post 126 Adjutant
