TRIP TO DOVER AIR MOBILITY COMMAND MUSEUM
On Sunday, October 11th
we are taking a trip to the Dover, Maryland Air Mobility
Command Museum.
See a restored WWII B-17
“Flying Fortress” and 20 other aircraft. Go aboard a C141A “Starlifter”.
Try out the Flight Simulator
and learn about the people that flew and maintained these WWII
aircraft.
Trip includes two 45 minute
tours of each part of the museum, transportation, coffee &
danish to begin
the trip, a box lunch, and
cold drinks for $17 per person. Make your reservation early.

NOV. 10th
VETERANS DAY CONCERT
Help
salute our soldiers and veterans at the Veterans Day Concert,
hosted by the 8th Annual Veterans Dinner Dance
Committee. The two-hour open bar and free buffet will be held
at the Coastline Restaurant on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 (a day
before Veterans Day) from 6pm-8pm. Special guests include SNL
star Joe Piscopo, former Eagles player “G” Cobb, ESPN’s Sal
Paolantonio, former Miss New Jersey, Jill Horner and guest NFL
players.
Dance
to the sounds of the 9-piece Chatter Party Band from The Trump
Casino in Atlantic City and take part in the silent auction as
we honor those who are serving and have served our country.
Proceeds will benefit the Wounded Warriors Rehab Center at Ft.
Dix, NJ NG Family Readiness Council, NJ Veterans Nursing homes,
Gold Star Mothers, Camden Country Red Cross and Camden Country
Veterans Services.

VINELAND MEMORIAL
HOME PICNIC
On July 26th Post
126 hosted a picnic for some 150 Vineland Memorial Home
veterans, family members and
staff. The following 13
volunteers from Post 126 assisted in serving and cooking
hamburgers and hotdogs: Marshall

VETERAN GRAVE FLAGS
In May,
the Jewish Committee for Scouting of Southern New Jersey placed
almost 1,000
American
Flags at veteran graves at the Crescent Memorial Park in
Pennsauken, NJ.


EAGLE SCOUT AWARD
CEREMONIES

regularly attends Eagle Scout Award ceremonies in Camden County
and
presents the new Eagle Scout
with the JWV National Eagle Scout Certificate. If you would

63rd
ANNUAL BEVERLY PILGRIMAGE
On May
17th Post 126 held the 63rd Annual Beverly
Pilgrimage at Crescent Memorial Park and
Beverly
National Cemetery. This program was begun in 1946 by the JWV
Wolf Post to honor
the
fallen Jewish veterans buried in Beverly National Cemetery.
When the Wolf Post merged
with
Furer-Barag Post it was agreed this ceremony would continue.
Family members from as
far away
as Florida, Maryland, Minnesota, Pittsburgh and Philadelphia
traditionally attend.

DEPT. of NJ MID-WINTER CONVENTION - January 8th to
10th - Ocean City
The JWV
Department of New Jersey Mid-Winter Convention will be held in
Ocean City, NJ from
Jan. 8th
until Jan. 10th at the Port-O-Call Hotel. The
Convention Package includes 2 dinners, Saturday lunch, 2 buffet
breakfasts, hotel suite for 2 nights, parking, all gratuities
and taxes for $245 per person.
