LISTEN UP! August 2009 COMMANDER’S MESSAGE As we start our year 2009/2010, I'd like to thank those members who actively participated in the many events we had during this past year. Your presence aided us in maintaining a "vision" with the veterans’ community in South Jersey and in the state; a vision we must continue to excel in to support our veterans and the Jewish War Veterans. Looking ahead to another meaningful year, I'd like for all of us to congratulate past Post Commander, Bernie Epworth, as he assumes the position of "State Commander" of the Jewish War Veterans, Department of New Jersey. I'm certain with our members’ assistance, Bernie's year will be full of accomplishments. Our plans this year are to have some of our members speak about their military careers at regular meetings along with a few invited "guest speakers", hoping to create some "excitement" within the membership. We will also have some refreshments at the conclusion of each meeting and time for some socializing. Starting with the December meeting and continuing thru March, our meetings will be held on SUNDAY's at 9:30am with light refreshments also. There is much to do and we really need every members help. So... please, if you can, make an extra effort to answer the call and become a "regular" at our meetings and volunteer to assist with the JWV mission. I look forward to seeing some "new faces" along with our "regulars" at the first meeting of the new year on MONDAY, Sept.14th at Temple Beth Shalom, 7:30pm sharp!!! Member, May Brill, will be the guest military career speaker.
