COMMANDER’S CORNER

COMMANDERS MESSAGE – June 6, 2010

Thanks to everyone for attending our Post Installation Brunch Meeting.

I have a special thank you to Sam Podietz.  I know it will be difficult following his out- standing two years as our Post commander.  With the new Post officers and with you giving time and service, our Post 126 will continue to be the special and most active Post in the tri-county area and the country.

My number one effort will be to move as many members off the just being paper members to become active working members. This Memorial Day weekend, the Post collected money at our Poppy Day sale to fund the many activities we do for veterans and our service people at McGuire-Fort Dix-Lakehurst Military Base, with more active members selling Poppies we could have easily double our collections meaning more funds for our various donations.

So how are we going to do this?

One way - I want is to have many events and trips with our members. We have already planned to bring the vets from the Vineland veteran home to the Riversharks baseball game this afternoon in Camden.  In July we will have a bingo and pizza day in Vineland and in August we will have a BBQ party in Vineland.  The rest is up to all of you - the Post members.  Where would you like to visit?  What would you like to do?   Let’s hear from you and keep Post 126 moving upward and onward.

I thank all of you for the honor of becoming your 2010-2011 Commander of  JVW Post 126.

 Harold Waitsman
